The Beat Magazine DISH Awards
I am VERY pleased and honoured to announce I have been nominated for 3 DISH awards for my work in theatre this past year. The Beat Magazine has recognized the importance of stage makeup in two new categories and I am so proud to say I have nominations in both: Best Makeup Musical for my work on Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Best Makeup Comedy/Drama for Mambo Italiano as well as for Goodnight Children Everywhere. I worked hard to make a name for myself in London this past year and I am so proud that my work was recognized by The Beat Magazine at the DISH Awards. I hope I can announce a win (or two!!) after the ceremony on January 15! Wish me luck!!

While Mambo Italiano and Goodnight Children Everywhere were done solely by me, I must credit the whole team of talented makeup artists on Sweeney Todd…with a cast this large I could not have done it alone in the time allowed for prep before a show. While I orchestrated the overall look of the makeup my crew had wonderful ideas of their own and our makeups blended perfectly to create the visual I was looking for. The crew of MakeupLand were as follows: Sarah Taylor, Kathryn Hutson, Erica James, Monica Pavez, Paula Skikavich and Christina Rapacz. Thanks so much to all of you and I hope we are able to share a win!!
